Cloud & DevOps: modern, automated cloud infrastructure

Cloud & DevOps is the set of practices and tools for designing, automating and operating software infrastructure in the cloud, bringing development and operations together in a continuous delivery flow. Wisalo, a software house based in Curitiba, Brazil, founded in 2019, designs and maintains cloud environments focused on scalability, security, controlled costs and frequent, safe releases.

Overview

Good infrastructure is the kind nobody thinks about: the system handles usage spikes, releases happen without surprises and, when something fails, the team finds out before the customer does. To get there, we treat infrastructure as code, automate the path from commit to production and make the system observable.

We work with the major cloud providers and size the solution to the real scale of the project. Not every system needs a complex architecture: we recommend the simplest option that meets availability, security and cost requirements, and leave room to grow.

Security is part of the infrastructure from the start: least-privilege permissions, secrets kept in managed vaults and never in code, encryption in transit and at rest, private networks for databases and automated vulnerability scans in the pipeline. Every environment, from development to production, is created from the same code, which reduces differences between them and the problems that only show up in production. Every relevant architecture change is recorded with the reasoning and the alternatives considered.

Who it is for

  • Companies still running on their own servers

Businesses that want to move to the cloud with proper planning, without disrupting operations and without billing surprises.

  • Teams afraid to deploy

Teams whose releases are manual, slow and risky, and who want to automate testing and delivery.

  • Growing products

Platforms whose user base has grown and that need to scale horizontally and predictably.

  • Companies with high cloud costs

Organizations that feel they pay more than they should and want visibility and optimization of their resources.

Problems we solve

  • Outages and instability

We design architectures with redundancy, health checks and autoscaling to reduce single points of failure.

  • Manual, risky releases

We build CI/CD pipelines that automatically test, build and deploy, with the ability to roll back quickly.

  • Environments nobody knows how to recreate

With Infrastructure as Code, the entire infrastructure is described in versioned code and can be reproduced in any environment.

  • Lack of visibility in production

We implement structured logs, metrics, distributed tracing and alerts to identify problems by their impact on users.

  • Uncontrolled cloud spending

We review sizing, apply cost tags and set up budget alerts to make spending predictable.

What we deliver

  • Cloud-native architecture

Infrastructure design with managed services, private networks, encryption and high availability.

  • Cloud migration

Planning and execution of a phased migration, with a rollback plan and validation at each phase.

  • CI/CD pipelines

Automation of build, tests, security analysis and deployment for each environment.

  • Container orchestration

Packaging with Docker and operation with Kubernetes, including autoscaling and zero-downtime updates.

  • Monitoring and observability

Logs, metrics, traces, dashboards and alerts with runbooks, to operate the system with data.

  • Infrastructure as Code

Infrastructure described in Terraform, versioned and reviewed like any other code.

Technologies and stack

We work with the major cloud providers and with open, established automation and observability tools:

  • AWS
  • GCP
  • Azure
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • GitHub Actions
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Prometheus

How we work

  1. Current environment assessment

We survey the architecture, costs, security risks and current release flow.

  2. Target architecture design

We propose the architecture and the transition plan, recording decisions and their trade-offs.

  3. Automation

We codify the infrastructure and build the delivery pipelines and security checks.

  4. Migration and release

We move workloads in phases, with staging validation and a rollback plan for each step.

  5. Operations and improvement

We track availability and cost metrics and adjust the infrastructure based on real usage.

Frequently asked questions

Which cloud provider is best for my company?

It depends on the services needed, the team's expertise and existing contracts. Wisalo works with AWS, GCP and Azure and recommends a provider after understanding the requirements of your case.

Is it possible to migrate to the cloud without stopping the system?

In most cases, yes. We plan the migration in phases, with parallel environments, staging validation and a rollback plan, to minimize the impact on operations.

What is Infrastructure as Code?

It is the practice of describing servers, networks, databases and permissions in versioned code files, for example with Terraform. This makes environments reproducible, auditable and less prone to manual errors.

Do I need Kubernetes?

Not always. Kubernetes is recommended when there are multiple services and a need for standardized scaling and operations. For smaller systems, simpler managed services may be enough, and that is what we recommend when that is the case.

Do you help reduce cloud costs?

Yes. We review resource sizing, remove idle resources, apply cost tags and set up budgets and alerts to make spending predictable.

Do you take care of infrastructure security?

Yes. We apply least-privilege permissions, secrets management in managed vaults, encryption, private networks and vulnerability scans in the pipeline, along with audit trails of access.

Shall we talk about your project?

Tell us the context, goals and constraints of your challenge. A Wisalo specialist will get back to you with the next steps.
