Custom Web Development
Custom web development is the creation of applications that run in the browser, from corporate portals to SaaS platforms, designed around each business's specific processes. At Wisalo, a software house based in Curitiba, Brazil, founded in 2019, we handle this work end to end: discovery, design, engineering, release and ongoing evolution.
Overview
A well-built web system becomes business infrastructure: it centralizes operations, connects people and data, and has to keep working as the company grows. That is why we treat every application as a product, with architecture built to last, reviewed code, automated tests and continuous delivery, not as a project that ends at handoff.
We work with private companies and public institutions, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. We build new products from scratch and also evolve systems already in production that need new features, a more modern interface or a healthier technical foundation.
Every relevant technical decision, such as choosing between server-side or client-side rendering, the data model and the authentication approach, is recorded along with the alternatives considered. That way, whoever maintains the system in the future understands why it is the way it is. We track performance indicators, such as Core Web Vitals, and production stability to guide the next improvements with data.
Who it is for
Companies that need their own system
When spreadsheets and generic tools can no longer keep up with the process, a custom system organizes operations the way they actually happen.
Startups and SaaS companies
Teams that need to launch a digital product, validate it with real users and evolve quickly without piling up an unmaintainable codebase.
Public institutions
Agencies and entities that need accessible, secure and well-documented portals and systems, with attention to transparency and data protection requirements.
Businesses with legacy systems
Companies whose current system is slow, hard to change or relies on unsupported technologies, and that want to modernize without disrupting operations.
Problems we solve
Processes stuck in spreadsheets and rework
Scattered information, duplicate data entry and no access control. We centralize the workflow in an application with clear rules and history.
Slow or unstable system
Slow screens, outages at peak times and recurring errors. We find the root cause through measurement and fix it in the architecture, not just the symptom.
Codebase that is hard to evolve
Every new feature breaks another. We reorganize the code into layers, add tests and create a safe path forward.
Poor user experience
Confusing interfaces that don't work well on mobile or exclude people with disabilities. We redesign with a focus on usability and accessibility.
Lack of visibility in search engines
Sites and portals that don't show up on Google because they were built without technical SEO. We choose the right rendering strategy for each page.
What we deliver
SaaS platforms
Multi-user products with authentication, access roles, dashboards, billing and data isolation between customers.
Corporate and institutional portals
Websites and portals with content management, logged-in areas, multilingual support and SEO and accessibility best practices.
E-commerce and marketplaces
Online stores and marketplace platforms with catalog, cart, payment integration, logistics and order management.
Admin systems and back offices
Internal tools for registration, approvals, reporting and operations tracking, with role-based permissions.
Single Page Applications and PWAs
Highly interactive applications that can be installed on the device and work on unstable connections when the use case requires it.
Code, documentation and pipeline
A repository with history, automated tests, technical documentation and a release pipeline, so the system is truly yours.
Technologies and stack
We choose the stack based on the problem, the team that will maintain the system and the client's ecosystem. The technologies we use most in web projects are:
- React
- Next.js
- Vue.js
- Angular
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- Python
- Go
- PostgreSQL
- AWS
How we work
Discovery
We understand goals, users, processes and constraints. We map what is essential for the first version and what can wait.
Architecture and design
We define the architecture, data model and rendering strategy, and design the main screens with clickable prototypes.
Iterative development
We deliver in short cycles, with a staging environment for continuous validation, code review and automated tests on every change.
Release
We put the system into production with an automated pipeline, monitoring and a rollback plan, without relying on manual steps.
Continuous evolution
After launch, we keep delivering improvements, fixes and new features based on real usage data.

How much does it cost to build a custom web system?
It depends on the scope, the integrations and the security and availability requirements. That is why Wisalo starts with a discovery conversation and presents a proposal with defined scope, phases and investment for your case, with no generic price list.
How long does it take to launch the first version?
The timeline is defined after discovery, because it varies with the size of the scope. We prioritize a lean first version that already solves the core problem, and evolve from there in short cycles.
Does my company own the source code?
Yes. We work with a versioned repository, documentation and a release pipeline, so your company has control of the system and can maintain it with Wisalo or with another team.
Do you evolve existing systems?
Yes. We run a technical assessment of the current system, identify risks and priorities, and define an evolution plan that may include gradual refactoring, new features and stack modernization.
How do you handle security and LGPD in web applications?
Security and data protection are built in from the design stage: explicit authentication and authorization, input validation, encryption in transit and at rest, no personal data in logs and collection of only what is necessary.
Shall we talk about your project?
Tell us the context, goals and constraints of your challenge. A Wisalo specialist will get back to you with the next steps.
