UX/UI Design for digital products
UX/UI Design is the discipline that defines how a digital product works for people (user experience) and how it is presented visually (interface). At Wisalo, a software house based in Curitiba, Brazil, founded in 2019, design is grounded in user research and done together with engineering, so that what is designed is feasible, accessible and reaches production as intended.
Overview
A good interface reduces doubts, errors and support tickets. It guides users to their goal without making them think about the path. To do that, design has to start by understanding who uses the product, in what context and with what difficulties, not by picking colors.
Because designers and developers work on the same team, the components we design become reusable code components. This keeps visual consistency across screens and products and speeds up building new features.
Accessibility is not a final step: we follow WCAG guidelines from the first wireframes, checking contrast, touch target size, keyboard navigation order and alternative text. We also consider performance in design, avoiding animations and images that make screens slow on entry-level phones or unstable connections. At the end of each cycle, the design team follows the implementation to ensure the result in production matches what was validated with users.
Who it is for
Companies creating a new product
Teams that need to turn an idea into validated flows and screens before investing in full development.
Products with low adoption
Systems that users avoid, abandon midway or only use after extensive training.
Companies with multiple inconsistent products
Organizations whose screens look like they were built by different companies and that need a shared design system.
Institutions that need accessibility
Public agencies and companies that need to serve people with disabilities and follow accessibility guidelines.
Problems we solve
Users get lost in the flows
We redesign the information architecture and flows based on testing with real users.
Rework between design and development
We deliver specifications and components ready for implementation, aligned with engineering from the start.
Inconsistent interface
We create a design system with documented tokens and components, used across all screens.
Exclusion of people with disabilities
We apply WCAG guidelines: contrast, keyboard navigation, alternative text and screen reader compatibility.
Opinion-based decisions
We use research and usability testing to decide based on how users actually behave.
What we deliver
User research and testing
Interviews, journey analysis and usability testing to understand needs and validate solutions.
Wireframes and interactive prototypes
Clickable flows that let you test the solution before building it.
Design systems
Color, typography and spacing tokens and a documented component library for design and code.
High-fidelity interfaces
Final screens for web and mobile, with loading, error and empty states defined.
Animations and micro-interactions
Purposeful motion that gives users feedback without hurting performance or accessibility.
Digital identity
Applying the brand to digital products, with consistency across website, system and app.
Technologies and stack
We use tools that bring design and code closer together, so what was designed is what reaches the user:
- Figma
- Framer
- Storybook
- Design Tokens
- WCAG 2.1
- React
- Material UI
How we work
Immersion
We understand the business, the users, the current metrics and the technical constraints.
Research
We listen to users and analyze usage data to identify the main problems.
Ideation and prototyping
We explore alternatives and build clickable prototypes of the priority flows.
Validation
We test the prototypes with users and make adjustments before development.
Delivery and follow-up
We deliver specifications and components, follow the implementation and measure results after launch.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between UX and UI?
UX (user experience) is about how the product works: flows, information organization and ease of use. UI (user interface) is about the visual layer: colors, typography, components and layout. Wisalo works on both in an integrated way.
Do you only do design, or do you also develop?
We do both. We can deliver design only, with specifications for your team to implement, or also handle development with our engineering team.
What is a design system and when is it worth it?
It is a set of reusable patterns, tokens and components, documented for design and code. It is worth it when there are many screens, products or teams, because it ensures consistency and speeds up building new features.
How do you ensure accessibility?
We follow WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines from the design stage: adequate contrast, visible focus, keyboard navigation, alternative text and correct semantics, also verified during implementation.
Is it possible to improve the design of a system already in use?
Yes. We start with a usability assessment and prioritize the highest-impact improvements, applying them gradually so system use is not disrupted.
Do you design for web and for apps?
Yes. We design interfaces for websites, web systems and iOS and Android apps, following each platform's conventions and keeping the visual identity consistent across them.
Shall we talk about your project?
Tell us the context, goals and constraints of your challenge. A Wisalo specialist will get back to you with the next steps.
